Buying a home

Buying a house is often said to be one of the biggest financial commitments that you will make in your life.

When choosing a property, you must ask yourself the following questions

1. Can you really afford it?
2. Is it near the transport links, schools, or facilities you need?
3. Do you like the area?
4. Is it big enough?
5. How old is? (Consider carefully problems that may be more common in older properties eg. Damp)
6. Does it have enough outdoor space, gardens, garages etc?
7. Is it freehold or leasehold?
8. Survey the market - how easy will it be to sell?
